Confluence 2K8 – Arthayan

I thought that the Days of Confluence, our institutes Tech-Fest would be very peaceful, with me enjoying see others participate but this didn’t happen that way. I was called upon by the Arthayan organising team (Management Fest) and made the Technical Coordinator for the whole event. Iwas asked to build a system that would cater the need of the event Share-Mandi (Dummy Stock Exchange). Here I was supposed to build a system in less than 24 hours which could stimulate the environment of the real Stock Exchange & provide a very easy interface for Brokers/Traders to trade. The system was built well before time by using PHP5 and MySQL Database on OpenSuSE 10.3 OS but the data-entry couldn’t be done so the event had to be postponed for a day. The partipants got frustrated and all the members of the organising team were booed. The work was completed and the event was started on time the next day. The response at the start was far more than we expected. Their were 200 traders & 11 brokers who traded on 30 stocks. The whole scenario seemed to be as a real stock exchange. The people got so intereted that no one felt when the three hours passed away. The whole event was a great success & all the participants were satisfied. The Overall Coordiantor of Arthayn, Mr. Debashish Mahapatra, The Event Coordiantors, Mr Pranav Khaitan & Mr. Vineet and others provided great support & took great care of me.

The whole event was a great success and I was satisfied that my labour didn’t go in vain.

The whole Techfest concluded and all fun ended. Now everyone waits if the next day they will have to attend boring Lectures or have a relief day from the classes sanctioned by Director.

This tech-fest was the best that had been ever organised in the history of our organisation. This tech-fest has complete spectra for Technical & Management Events. This tech-fest provided a platform that could raise our Engineering minds to Management Minds with various new competitions like the Bussiness plan event Conceivia, where the tobe engineers were asked to be bussinessmen & present their plans to the Judges from Mywalkin, IITs etc. Such events helped the partipants and the attendees to update themselves & come to know of the current market scenario with the understanding & point of view of the employers and bussinessmen. In the techfest fun was not forgotten & Laser-Light Show was organised one night & DJ performances on the other.

The whole Tech-Fest was a well thought of plan.
